The 7 Days To Die Freeground Server Is Live! 1.0! Let's Go!

Image
You can find this server for searching for "Freeground PVE" The full name is: Freeground PVE - Big Cities, Guns, Nerds and Steel Mods, 66 Slot Backpack + More. I really wanted everyone to know what to expect when they logged in. The mods are well tested, and the world is great. I'm using this as my personal gaming landscape, so you can expect it to be around for months. I plan on building multiple bases and having a lot of fun. You're welcome to join me or to play on your own here. Here are the rest of the details. This server is pretty vanilla for the most part. There are no full conversions or player teleportation commands that will send you back home no matter where you are. We're playing as the developers intended with a +50% experience bump and a party experience sharing range of 10 kilometers so you can level up together. Server Rules - Use your claim blocks. It's the only way to prevent griefing along with a locked door. Blocks are 100 times tougher w

14 Days To Die Comes to An End

During past Alphas, the 14 Days to Die server enjoyed long periods of high popularity, but this time it didn't work out. That's all right, I understand how it may not be a popular style of server after the many changes in Alpha 21 and Release 1.0. Seeing that, and after hearing back from a few people who initially tested my server with me in the past, I've decided to start over with a more conventional 7 Days to Die server. You'll see all the details about that in the next post. It will feature the same mods, big cities, and more things that you enjoyed on the 14 Days to Die server with more conventional settings. For everyone who is sad to see the 14 Days to Die server go, I've saved the world files and will offer them here. You can download them and continue playing on your own, privately host it for your friends, or start a server with that map. Here's the Google Drive Link. Thank you to everyone who explored that map with me. I hope you give the new server

14 Days To Die Is Live With 1.0 Stable!

That's right, my most popular server mode is live now. The Blood Moon only comes every 14 days so you have a lot of time to prepare and enhance your bases! This is a build focused server with mods that don't ruin the game balance, but definitely help you make the best base possible. Oh, and they're all server side, so you just have to log on, you won't have to download or install any mods yourself. This map also has larger cities than normal, including in the forest and desert biomes. To find this server, use the in-game Join Menu to search for; " 14 Days To Die "  The testing phase for this server went is over after over a month, and I'm pleased with the results. Server Rules - Use your claim blocks. It's the only way to prevent griefing along with a locked door. Blocks are 100 times tougher with a claim block. - World Regenerations are performed periodically. During this time, all blocks that have not been visited within 3 in-game days will be rest

Chill and Build - The 7 Days To Die Server

Image
To find this server, use the in-game Join Menu to search for; " Chill and Build PVE "  Chill and Build is a fast progression and building focused server that doesn't have Blood Moons. I once ran this as the original 14 Days To Die, and am spinning this up to celebrate the release of 7 Days to Die 1.0 on PC. I love this game and have over thirty-five hundred hours in.  We're still in the testing phase because I expect that the Fun Pimps, the developers behind the game, will probably release a major patch on July 25, when 1.0 Stable comes out. If that demands a freshly generated world, then I'm afraid the current world will get wiped. I've restated half a dozen times since the end of June, so I'm not looking forward to another wipe, but if it has to happen so we can have a more stable, fully featured world, then I'll do it without hesitation. Until then, I'll be prototyping a few builds, starting with a big base. Server Rules - Use your claim blocks

The Server Will Be Down Until 2PM August 31, 2023

The time has finally come to wipe the server and start over again. This new world is a highly customized 8k map with a specific spawn point. There are several light weight mods installed, and Blood Moons will only come along every 14 days, like the previous server. There are more details to come. Like the title says, we'll be back up and running at 14:00 Eastern Standard Time. I hope to see you then. Here is the previous world in a tidy zip file on the Discord Server here:  https://discord.gg/RwWs8tMWKE Thank you for your patience, I hope to see you in the new world.

The World Ends on August 31, 2023! (For real this time)

On August 31, the world that we're playing now will be wiped out and replaced with a brand new one. The old world will be packed up into an archive and offered here for anyone to download. If you want to continue playing it on your own, or to host a server of your own using it, then feel free. Be warned, however: that one is one patch behind, so compatibility is viable but not perfect with the current version of 7 days to die. I only ask that you don't call your server "14 Days to Die" if you do host it. After a while any game world with a fair number of players accumulates half finished bases, and old claim blocks. Part of 7 Days to Die is restarting, too, and I've reached the top of the game along with a few other players, so it's time to move on. So, don't worry, all won't be lost. You can download your own copy of this world and the new one will be better in many ways.

The World May Be Ending On August 19, 2023. Only you can stop it!

One of the stickiest questions that can plague a dedicated server in 7 Days To Die is when it's time to reset the world, forcing everyone to restart. The most obvious time is when a new major patch hits, like the advancement from Alpha 20 to Alpha 21. The map isn't compatible from one to the other, so it's a no-briainer. What about between major patches? After a while the world will accumulate abandoned player camps, new POI's may drop, and some players may start yearning to start over so they can use what they've learned during their last play though. This gives everyone who has met on the server the opportunity to start over at the same time, for the map to change, and for a few new rules to be made that reflect the desires of the community. It has been a pleasure meeting and playing with you on this new version of the server. Alpha 21 brought some new features in that I was eager to try, such as the chunk reloading system. It turns out that the system isn't
